Shadowing Practice

Become an echo of the speaker. Trail native speech by about half a second — copying pronunciation, rhythm and intonation rather than stopping to translate. Done regularly, it sharpens your ear and makes new phrases stick.

How it works
  1. 1

    Pick your material

Paste a YouTube link — the speaker's captions become your synced transcript — or type your own text to practise with a reference voice.

  2. 2

    Play & listen

Play the video — all of it or just a part, straight from the synced transcript — at a speed you choose, and soak up the rhythm and intonation.

  3. 3

    Pause & repeat

Pause whenever you want and echo what you just heard. We record and listen to you only while the video is paused, so the speaker never ends up in your take.

  4. 4

    Finish & compare

When you're done, get your result: your echo against what you actually practised, with a word-match and pace estimate. Rate it and track your reps.

Your voice never leaves the browser — recordings are not uploaded. Recording needs microphone permission; your practice log and saved exercises live only on this device.

Paste a YouTube link — the video's captions become your practice transcript, split into repeatable segments.
